The good side is that its right in the city center, its clean and has a very nice view. Poor sides are many, you dont receive lockers, towel, sandals, there is no one in charge so what happens happens, you are exposed to cold when you move between the tiny changing room and sauna, the sea is greasy due to the platform being close to harbour so you do not want to swim in there. But its not hard to remember 6 digits like some complained. Overall its ok
Great experience, clean and easy to book.As mentioned the changing rooms are tiny and unrealistic to the amount of people in the sauna. Write your pin code on your hand in waterproof ink or eyeliner before you go, as you are in and out of coded areas often.Would recommend this being the last thing you do in your day, so you can get back to your accomodation for a warm shower and to be able to dry off properly.
Like many others have mentioned in previous reviews, the changing room is unfortunately a real issue. There are two saunas with space for eight people in each, which means up to 16 guests may need to change at the same time. The garderobe is very small — realistically only fitting about three people comfortably — and when it’s wet, it quickly becomes cramped and inconvenient. The view from the sauna is beautiful, and the water is absolutely amazing — that part truly makes the experience special. But the changing room situation does take away from the overall comfort.Another small inconvenience is having to memorize a six-digit code to access both the sauna and the changing room. It’s manageable, but a bit impractical.Overall, it’s a nice experience. However, 350 NOK for a one-hour sauna session feels slightly overpriced considering the facilities.
During my visit to Tromsø, I used TheHotSpot Sauna, almost daily, for a month. It’s been an amazing and a true arctic experience. It was the perfect start to my day; a coldplunge and sweat while looking out over the harbour and with mountains in the background. The sauna, the changeroom and the w/c were always clean and never crowded. The online booking system was easy to use and, when needed, the office only few steps away. I highly recommend “the HotSpot” Sauna experience when visiting Tromsø.
This is new Sauna spot in Tromso. Two suana cabin overlooking the harbour, just by at the Vervet area. I book for 9.30 PM expecting for no crowd and yes, I was lucky, it was just me and one other guy. Dip into the fresh sea water and get back to the sauna - repeat. If the weather is clear, you can see the northern lights from here. I book later night so I can stay around after to look for Northern Lights, the KP is usually better at 9PM. The only downside is the PIN, you have to remember 6 digits number to get into the sauna or changing room. I was lucky to have the other guy, otherwise I would have locked outside and freezing. Bring your own towel and sandals or socks so you don't hurt/freeze your feet outside. No soap and shampoo allowed, the water goes directly to the sea.
3.5-4 / 5 star review. The overall experience here was good! However, as others have said, it has some room for improvement. The change rooms are very small and require you to bring a lock yourself which I find unrealistic for a touristy spot. Further, they’re very tight, fitting only about 3 people. If it was busy, you may have to wait outside in a bathing suit, which is not the most comfortable experience. Luckily, we went at a calm time and didn’t have much issue with other people. Alongside this, the change rooms and saunas require you to memorize a 6 (!) digit code to get in, and if door doesn’t close properly, there is a frustrating beeping able to be heard outside. It’s not the biggest issue, but it’s sometimes frustrating, especially when you’re plunging in the arctic and want a calm environment. Finally, there is a thick layer of ice covering the dock to get from the saunas to the ladder. I find this to be a little dangerous and I think can be easily fixed for a better experience. It sounds like a lot of frustrations, but again the overall experience was awesome. The sauna is large and we got lucky and had a very lovely group with us. The plunge was awesome as well. It’s just that the facilities could use a little more love.Bring: a lock socks / shoes to walk between the sauna and dock (we found socks to be a nice replacement for shoes and just swam in them and rang them out with no issues in the sauna) your own towel
Had to be the best view from any of the local floating saunas. This was one of my favorite things we did while in Tromsø. Highly recommend.
First off, the Sauna itself is clean and modern. View and location is amazing. However, change rooms are very cramped. I arrived with 5 other people in the change room and did not have room to navigate one inch so you need to wait while your time is ticking. Every door even to the Sauna has a digital pin lock which is annoying when coming back from a cold plunge and entering a 6 digit! Pin. Maybe it's just me, but you'd think 3-4 digits would be secure enough instead of memorizing a 6-digit pin code during a stay. For the price I would expect a digital pin lock to the lockers (most people brought no lock for their valuables) and more room. Showers are cold only but that's okay. Don't forget your towel and lock. Again, fun experience but expect mayhem in the change rooms.
Honestly, I would give it minus points if I could. It was close to the apartment and everywhere else was booked so we went here. It was not hot enough. The selling point of this is the view but people from the previous groups stood in front of the sauna as they wait for each other.. There were people drinking or playing loud music. The changing room was super small so then you end up waiting outside in your wet swimwear if there is already two people in it. They give you seven digit code which you are expected to remember to access changing room and sauna. This is just stupid. There should be some kind of bracelet to make it more pleasant. The changing room has tiny little box without a lock in it. Oh and the non-stop beeping because people didn’t close the door is annoying. This experience was not relaxing at all. There are better places to go to for the same price. The water was great thought!
We were there today and it is not a place for relaxed and enjoyable sauna sessions. Even upon arrival, the shared changing rooms (mini cubicles with a small shower and lockers) are so full that you waste the first few minutes of your paid time waiting for others to leave. Even with three people, changing is extremely cramped.During the sauna session, you can hear other people talking loudly outside, and strangers even try to enter the privately booked sauna (actually intended only for our group). This causes stress even during the actual experience – not to mention the continuous beeping of the changing room doors when they are left open again.Considering the price, I think there are better places to visit a sauna. Very little love has gone into this establishment. It feels very much like an attempt to process large crowds for easy money. Sauna at the harbor sounds cool, but this experience was not a pleasant one. If you still want to visit, remember to bring a padlock for the locker (I didn't have one, so my things had to remain unlocked) and flip-flops. Without the latter, your feet will freeze (in winter) on the frozen floors.Better no sauna than this one.
Coolest sauna in Tromsø! Really cool design with the round windows and lights. The view from the sauna is also amazing. We had the best time. Will come definitively come again.
It does it's job. cool sauna, with space for 8 people each. 4 stars because the undressing is small.
The location is amazing, but unfortunately the overall organization was very poor. The security staff was quite rude, and no one was there to check whether guests had tickets or not. The worst part was the changing rooms, which could barely fit two people, while the two saunas can accommodate up to 16 people. This completely ruined our vibe, as we had to wait around 40 minutes just to change after the session, since there were almost nine women sharing the lockers. Additionally, the WC was out of order, which created even more inconvenience. It’s really a pity, because the location itself is beautiful, but the lack of organization is obvious and cleanliness could definitely be improved.
Definitely worth a visit!!!This sauna and cold plunge makes you feel alive! Was around £20 each. Changing facilities are very small so my advice is go with your swimming gear under your clothes. And if you can - bring minimal stuff with you as the lockers are not too big.
The sauna itself was great. But the change rooms fit 2 people and the saunas book 8 so the math doesn’t make sense. Two people changing is so crowded and everyone else has to wait in the freezing cold while they’re waiting to get changed. And to continuously have to put a code in every single time you go in and out of the sauna (from the ocean) is ridiculous. You need way bigger change rooms to accommodate the amount of people. Once that is fixed, it would be much better. You should also have a water supply for people who have drank all their water and need to refill.
The sauna is barely hot enough to get a sweat going. Changing room way too small. Door opening mechanism is very clunky, so half the time people leave it open and there is an annoying beeping. No chill room to cool down either. This place is just a tourist trap designed to look nice on instagram. Also it smells weird 👎
They send you message saying you will get pin day of your booking. Everything in Norwegian. I never received messages with the pin. Other people received pin but they were not able to enter. 20min in we were living and some Norwegian girls explained to us that there is link in Norwegian in our email that we should click. Sauna is very nice, but messages should be in English.
The sauna e very well located, with great views from inside. It was very easy to reach and enter each space with the code previously provided. Definitely recommend it!
We privatised the big sauna for 1h at 17:00. Great experience to jump into the arctic water. Well supervised by a person on site.
Nice sauna and access to the water. Changing room is small, and signage could be improved but a great place to enjoy.
What an amazing experience, it is a must do activity. I just wish they had towels there to rent.
Inside is nice and the view is beautiful. What ruins it is the very small, gross change rooms (room for maybe 3 people, smells yuck). also no water or toilet when we were there.
It’s NOT a clean place. People come into sauna and sit down without a towel and no one here seems to care. And the changing room is super small and crowded. Female toilet is out of service.
Great sauna. Very clean and modern. Great experience overall
Location, city view is really good, BUT changing rooms are too small and uncomfortable. And also it would be better if the heating was with a wood stove.
Lovely self service sauna. Highly recommend.
Regina was so fantastic during our visit! This is the coolest place- highly highly recommend you don’t miss it during your time in Tromsø!
Wooow sauna in the ocean 🫡✌🏻
Stunning location, amazing facilities you can even climb into the sea if you like. A very friendly host I cant recommend this place any more thankyou so much
Was too expensive, toilets not working. Very small changing room, anyoying totally
Great sauna! Love it 🤩
Amazing views, clean and easy to access.
Amazing place to relax and chill.
Nice Viele and easy booking&access
Amazing, good space in the sauna, perfekt temprature and the staff is so nice
Right below our airBNB. Not to difficult to get to. Straightforward instructions. You get 2 hrs. Jump in, swim back up. Sauna. I never thought I would do it. But it was great. It cured my sinus stuff. I would do it again if I ever get back to Tromsø.
It is a nice small sauna spot in the city with amazing view especially for those who want to experience sauna and cold plunge 🙂 The sauna is modern and clean, everything is simple yet does its jobs, and most importantly the slots are not crazily overbooked. Many people in the review complained about the changing room, but come on if you are looking for big changing room with nice hot shower, you should go for spa resort instead. Would recommend this place for an artic sauna & plunge experience!
Sauna fantastica e pulita, ambiente accogliente e rilassante!
Czysta i spokojna sauna, ładne łazienki, przebieralnie, sauny. Wszystko nowe. Można wskoczyć do wody.
Best experience in town.
